    Depending on the settlement date of a transaction, the amounts debited from the current account or from the credit limit may use exchange rates different from those that were the basis for calculating the margins displayed for the date of the transaction.

    Exchange rates valid for current account

    This exchange rate will be used by the Bank for the international transactions performed through the cards issued by Credit Europe Bank.

    For the international transactions performed through a card, for which the currency of the transaction* is different than EUR, before directing the transaction for settlement at Credit Europe Bank (Romania) S.A., VISA or MasterCard performs the currency exchange from the currency of the initial transaction into the settlement currency (EUR), at the VISA or MasterCard exchange rate valid in the date of sending for settlement the transactions (exchange rate that can be accessed at the addresses: https://www.visaeurope.com/making-payments/exchange-rates, for cards issued under VISA logo, and https://www.mastercard.com/global/currencyconversion/, for cards issued under MasterCard logo) and directs the transaction to the Bank in the settlement currency (EUR).

    In case the transaction is performed with a credit card, the Bank will debit the card account with the equivalent of the transaction in the account's currency, using the exchange rate valid in the date when the transaction has arrived for settlement, that can be different than the date of performing the transaction. In case the transaction is performed with a debit card, the Bank will debit the card account with the equivalent of the transaction in the account's currency, using the exchange rate from the date when the transaction was performed.

    *The currency of the transaction: For e-commerce transactions, this currency is the one used by the acquiring bank for sending the transaction for authorisation/settlement to VISA/MasterCard and can be different than the currency presented on the website of the e-commerce merchants. In order to know the exact currency of the original transaction, the merchant is responsible to correctly display this information on its own website.
