Bucharest, May 25th  2011

Starting today, Credit Europe Bank, the credit card market leader in Romania and METRO Romania, the largest trade store Cash & Carry operating on the local market, initiated the first program of interest-free purchase in a profile store through CardAvantaj.

The program will run initially for a period of six months, in 7 Metro stores, from Bucharest and Brasov. CardAvantaj holders will be able to purchase in 6 interest-free installments a number of food products, which will be signposted on the shelf.

"We continue our tradition of pioneering in the retail and banking industries in Romania, launching the first program of product purchasing to purchase the product in interest-free installments, from a Cash & Carry store. It is the first step we make towards extending the coverage of CardAvantaj addressability, noting a growing request for this type of facility, " said Dorin Iancu, Head of Retail Banking Sales.

METRO customers can apply for CardAvantaj both inside the store and the Credit Europe Bank branches, as before. After approving the request, they will receive a shopping voucher worth 50 ron, offered by the bank, which may be used in METRO stores for three months.
