Bucharest, 6th of July 2009
Credit Europe Bank has carried out the financing processes of the farmers who benefitted from the Surface Support Scheme, related to the subsidies paid by APIA until the 30th of June 2009.
Based on the three-party agreement between APIA (Agriculture Payment and Intervention Agency), FGCR (The Rural Credit Guarantee Fund) and Credit Europe Bank, signed in February 2009, the Bank granted loans to farmers representing maximum 70% of the amount certified by APIA, while FGCR guaranteed 50% of the loan's amount. The success of this initiative was determined by the good collaboration between the Bank, APIA and FGCR, confirming the support that Credit Europe Bank is determined to offer to the Romanian farmers. Through this three-party agreement, Credit Europe Bank financed in 2008 farmers with agriculture exploitations between 50 and 1,600 hectares, from all the geographical regions of the country: Centre, Banat, Moldova, Valahia and Dobrogea. As a result of the success registered in 2009, Credit Europe Bank intends to extend this initiative also in 2010 for the applications submitted by farmers for the surface subsidies in 2009. In August 2008 Credit Europe Bank launched the Agro Capital IMM product designed to cover the working capital needs in agriculture and will soon launch a product designed to financing investments, Agro Invest IMM. Information related to the agriculture products can be obtained from the Credit Europe Bank (ROMÂNIA) S.A. branches, from the Bank's web page: www.crediteurope.ro or by consulting the dedicated SME portal: www.crediteuropeimm.ro.
