Bucharest, 5th of June 2007
Credit Europe Bank (Romania) S.A. ("Credit Europe Bank") is pleased to announce that following an oversubscription of its 2y Syndicated Term Loan Facility (the "Facility"), the amount of the Facility has been increased from its launch amount of €60 Million and signed today in Bucharest at €110 Million.
This Agreement sets out the terms and conditions to make available to Credit Europe Bank (Romania) S.A. a loan facility to be used for its general corporate purposes for a 2 years tenor.
The Facility has been arranged by Alpha Bank A.E., Mashreqbank PSC and Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG ("RZB"), the Mandated Lead Arrangers ("MLAs") with RZB acting as sole Bookrunner (the "Bookrunner"). Alpha Bank, London Branch is acting as Facility Agent.
The other 11 participants are the following banks:
- Co-Arrangers: Standard Bank plc, Vakifbank International AG
- Arrangers: American Express Bank GmbH, Commerzbank AG, Wachovia Bank, National Association
- Lead Managers: Doha Bank, LRP Landesbank Rheinland-Pfalz, National Bank of Greece S.A.
- Managers: Atlantic Forfaitierungs AG, National Bank of Egypt (UK) Limited, WGZ Bank AG
The Facility Agent is again Alpha Bank, London Branch.
Credit Europe Bank (Romania) was established in 1993 and in 2000 became "Finansbank (Romania) SA". Following the sale of Finansbank A.S. Turkey to National Bank of Greece, Greece in August 2006, Finansbank (Romania) S.A. changed its name into Credit Europe Bank (Romania) S.A on 12th March 2007.
Majority owned by FIBA International Holding N.V., it is an universal bank, Credit Europe Bank (Romania) being mainly active in corporate and retail banking. It employees 1.700 employees and operates through 85 branches and agency offices in Romania, reaching more than 250.000 individual clients and 20.000 corporate and SME clients.
This is the 5th agreement of this type of the bank, the first syndicated loan of Credit Europe Bank (Romania) S.A. being the facility of EUR 15 mio signed in October 2004, followed by EUR 55 mio in October 2005, EUR 60 mio in June 2006 and EUR 45 mio in December 2006.
In 2007 at 31st of March, the loan portfolio of the Bank reached EUR 530 million whereas the Bank's assets reached EUR 815 million compared to EUR 447 million and EUR 697 million in 2006 respectively.
